About me

Memet - Ecommerce store owner based in Denmark

Hi, I'm Memet

I'm an ecommerce store owner based in Denmark. By day I work in quality assurance at a pharmaceutical company. That background — evaluating processes, questioning assumptions, demanding evidence — shapes everything I write on this site.

Let me be direct about something

Most ecommerce review sites are run by content writers.

People who have never set up a Shopify store. Never lost sleep over a WordPress site going down at 2am. Never had to decide whether to spend $149/month on an analytics tool when your margins are already tight. Never actually sold anything online.

They read the documentation, compare the feature lists, and publish a "review."

That's not what this is.

My story — the short version

I started my first ecommerce store — Feelshop.dk — on WordPress in late December 2022. A children's products store that I ran for 20 months. I had around 5,000 products. I fought with plugins, chased developers, contacted hosting providers trying to figure out why my site kept going down. One small edit could take the entire website offline.

After 20 months and 5,000 products — I had generated 7K in revenue.

That number tells you everything about where my energy was going. It was going into keeping the website alive. Not into selling.

In late 2024 I opened Babysleepy.dk on Shopify. A branded baby sleeping bag store built around the Danish market — a product with proven global demand but low availability locally.

With 2 products on Shopify — I generated 7 figures.

Same person. Same market knowledge. Completely different result.

I'm not telling you this to impress you. I'm telling you this because it's the context behind every review and comparison on this site. I know what it feels like to pick the wrong platform. I know what it costs — in time, in money, and in opportunity.

What this site is

EcomRated is where I share what I've actually learned — about platforms, tools, email marketing, analytics, subscriptions, payment processors, and everything else that goes into running a serious ecommerce business.

I review tools I've used personally. When I haven't used something personally, I say so — and I'm transparent about what my research is based on.

The question I ask about every tool is the same:

"What value does this generate for my business?"

A tool that costs $149/month but generates $1,000 in value isn't expensive. A free tool that wastes your time costs you more than you think.

My promise to you

✅ Real experience — not feature comparisons written by someone who's never run a store

✅ Honest verdicts — including when something didn't work for me

✅ A value-focused perspective — price alone means nothing

✅ No fluff — I'm a quality assurance professional by training. I don't accept things at face value and neither should you
